How siya looks after your family's information

siya holds some of the most private things a family has: a child's reports, medicines, recordings and videos. This page says what we keep, why, who else handles it, and how you take it out or delete it.

Who we are

siya is run by Manuj and Surbhi, the two parents who started it. Until our company is registered, we are the people responsible for your data.

For any question or complaint about your data, write to support@siya.care. This is also our grievance contact under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. We aim to reply within 7 days.

What we keep

We don't read your contacts, location or anything else on your phone.

Why we keep it

We don't show ads, and we never sell your information.

Who else handles it

Before we add another service that sees your data, such as one that turns voice notes into text, we'll name it here.

Where it's kept

On a computer we run ourselves, in India. Documents, recordings and videos are kept as files on it. We're moving to a server in India with encrypted storage and backups, and we'll update this page when we do.

Who sees your child's record

Everyone you add to your family in siya sees everything about your child, and can add to it. Nobody else does, unless you share something yourself: an emergency card link or a video link. Those stop working when the time runs out, or when you stop sharing.

Playground groups happen on WhatsApp, where members see each other's phone numbers. siya never shares your number anywhere else.

How long we keep it

For as long as your family uses siya. When you delete your family's data, it's removed from siya straight away. There are no backups yet. When there are, we'll say here how long they're kept.

We delete a waitlist entry whenever you ask.

Your choices

Children

siya is about children, but children don't use it. A parent adds their child's information and agrees to siya keeping it.

Cookies

One cookie keeps you signed in. Your choice of light or dark screen is kept on your own phone. There's no tracking and no advertising.

Changes to this page

We'll date every change here. If a change matters, we'll write to every family before it happens.
